Sales & Donations
FastPass makes vehicle donations easy! Gifting a vehicle to a friend, family member, or organization is an Authentic Act completed before a Notary with two witnesses. Ownership is transferred without monetary exchange, and in most cases, the transaction is tax-free, with only Title, Registration, and Plate fees applying.
Simply bring the donor, donee, vehicle title, donee’s proof of insurance, and valid ID for all parties—we’ll handle the rest, including instantly issuing a license plate to the new owner!
Power of Attorney
A Limited Power of Attorney lets you define exactly which powers an agent can exercise for a specific purpose—such as selling or donating a vehicle. Need a Limited Power of Attorney? FastPass will draft and notarize it for you; just bring your ID.
A General Power of Attorney gives an agent broader authority to act on your behalf—handling tasks like selling property and paying bills. It’s helpful when you can’t handle these tasks yourself. To get started, simply bring your detailed General Power of Attorney, outlining your wishes, along with your ID, and FastPass will notarize it for you.
Miscellaneous Affidavits & Statements
Do you need a license application or renewal notarized? Are you working on a contracted project that requires notarization? Or perhaps you need an Affidavit of Identity or Domicile notarized? FastPass is here to help! Simply bring your document and your ID to any FastPass location, where you'll be assisted by a Louisiana Certified Notary.
Please note, FastPass does not notarize wills, successions, or real estate purchase documents. Additionally, we can only "Certify True Copy" for documents that were originally notarized by a FastPass representative.

FAQs
What is a notary and why do I need one for certain transactions?
A notary is someone authorized by the Louisiana Secretary of State to verify and authenticate signatures on official documents. Louisiana requires notarization for certain vehicle transactions to ensure they’re legally valid and properly executed. All FastPass locations offer notary services.
Can I sign the document before bringing it to the notary?
It’s best to sign the document in front of the notary and bring your state-issued ID. If it’s already been signed, that’s okay—the document can still be used. Just be prepared to confirm that the signature is yours, as the notary is required to verify it.
Can a copy of a signed document be notarized?
No. Only documents with an original, wet-ink signature can be notarized. Photocopies or scanned copies cannot be notarized.
Â
Can FastPass notarize a copy of my birth certificate or passport?
No. Birth certificates and passports are considered breeder documents and cannot be notarized. Duplicate birth certificates must be requested through the Louisiana Department of Health. Duplicate passports can be requested at www.usa.gov. These documents must always be obtained directly from the issuing agency.
I can’t be there when my car is sold. Can FastPass help with a Power of Attorney?
Yes! FastPass can create and notarize a Limited Power of Attorney that authorizes someone else to sell your vehicle on your behalf. Just bring your state-issued ID and either proof of insurance or vehicle registration, to any FastPass location and we’ll take care of the rest.
