FastPass Hanging Handicap Tag

Hang Tags

Need a handicap hang tag? FastPass can issue temporary and permanent hang tags for those with a mobility impairment. You must have a Louisiana Driver’s License and/or Louisiana Identification Card to be issued a handicap hang tag. If you have a Medical Examiner’s Certification for mobility impairment, Disabled Veteran decision letter, or affidavit from the Veterans Affairs Office, FastPass can issue your hang tag. Just bring your certificate and photo ID, and we’ll take care of the rest!

License Plates

If you have a "Permanent Impairment" or are a Veteran with a 50% or more "Service Connected Disability," you're eligible for a Mobility Impaired (handicap) License Plate. Bring your Medical Examiner’s Certification for mobility impairment or, for Disabled Veterans, a decision letter or affidavit from the Veterans Affairs Office. You'll also need a photo ID, proof of insurance, and your current Vehicle Registration, and FastPass can issue your plate.

Hang Tag Renewals

In Louisiana, you don't get a permanent handicap hang tag—even if your disability is permanent. Instead, everyone needs to renew their tag regularly. If you have a temporary disability, you'll need to renew your permit every year, and each time you'll have to bring a new Physician’s Certification of Mobility Impairment form. For those with permanent disabilities, the renewal period is every four years. You don't need a new certification form in this case, but you still have to bring the current one with you when you renew.

FastPass Tag & Title can renew and print your new hangtag in under 30 minutes. Just bring your most updated Medical Examiner’s Certification for mobility impairment, Disabled Veteran decision letter, or affidavit from the Veterans Affairs Office, as well as your Driver’s License and proof of insurance, and we’ll take care of the rest!

Hang Tag Replacements

Did you lose your hangtag? FastPass can issue you a new one.

A No Insurance (NI) Flag is placed on your license when the State of Louisiana is notified that your vehicle insurance has lapsed or been canceled. Insurance providers send these notifications electronically to the state. This happens often in error if you’ve recently switched insurance companies. We’ll research the cause, explain the issue, and guide you in collecting any required documents to help clear the flag and avoid unnecessary penalties.

We are here to help! Give us a call or stop by at one of our locations. We will research the issue to determine why the flag was placed on your record. If it's an error, we’ll guide you through the steps to remove it without paying unnecessary fines to the Office of Motor Vehicles. We’ll also help you gather any required documents to resolve it.

Walk-ins welcome, but we take appointments too!
