What is a No Insurance (NI) Flag? Why do I have one on my driver’s license?
A No Insurance (NI) Flag is placed on your license when the State of Louisiana is notified that your vehicle insurance has lapsed or been canceled. Insurance providers send these notifications electronically to the state. This happens often in error if you’ve recently switched insurance companies. We’ll research the cause, explain the issue, and guide you in collecting any required documents to help clear the flag and avoid unnecessary penalties.
