LA Driver's Licenses

We are contracted with and authorized by the Louisiana Office of Motor Vehicles to issue first-time Driver’s Licenses. We interface with the State and use the same camera system, so we can issue first-time licenses (TIP upgrades), renew your Driver’s License, issue a duplicate Driver’s License, or change the address on your current Driver’s License.

  • Proper Identification

  • Collection of the applicant's Social Security Number, either verbal or documented
  • Successful passing of vision test
  • Proof current liability insurance, if applicable.
  • Successful completion of required tests, if applicable. (i.e. adding certain restrictions that demonstrate the driver's ability to safely operate a vehicle.

Real ID

Although you will not need to be Real ID-compliant for air travel until May 7, 2025, FastPass Tag & Title can issue them now. After May 7, 2025, visitors seeking access to military bases and federal facilities must have a driver’s license or identification card that is Real ID compliant. Simply bring one primary form of ID, two secondary forms, and two proofs of residency.

Driver's License Issuance

Every new driver must obtain a Temporary Instructional Permit (TIP) from the OMV, take Driver’s Education, and a road skills test at the OMV or with a third-party provider prior to obtaining a Driver’s License regardless of age. (Click here for a list of third-party providers)

Applicants who are 16 years old are eligible for an Intermediate License (click for details) after having a learner's permit for 180 days. Once an applicant with a learner’s permit reaches the age of 17, he or she is eligible for a full license. Applicants over 17 years of age are not required to apply for a permit or intermediate license.

Bring your TIP, a sealed envelope containing the results of the road skills test, and proof of insurance if you own a car. If you are under 18 years of age, bring your birth certificate and your parent or legal guardian with their ID.

Change of Address

Did you recently move from one address in Louisiana to another address in Louisiana? Did you know that you can be cited by a police officer for an incorrect address on your Driver’s License? Fast Pass can update the Louisiana address on your Driver’s License in just a few minutes. Bring your proof of insurance if you own a vehicle and get ready to smile for your new picture. *ALL CHANGES OF ADDRESS MUST BE ACCOMPANIED BY TWO PROOF OF RESIDENCY. Duplicates

Lost your Driver’s License? Don’t worry, at FastPass Tag & Title, we can print a duplicate Driver’s License in minutes instead of hours. Be sure to bring your proof of insurance if you own a car and be ready to take another picture. (if you are under 18 years of age, bring your Certificate of Enrollment from school or school ID, birth certificate, and your parent or legal guardian with their ID).

Renewals

When your Driver’s License expires, there is no quicker or easier way to renew than visiting FastPass. Simply bring your proof of auto insurance (if you own a car) and be ready to take another picture. You will also be required to pass an eye exam, so be sure to bring your glasses or wear your contact lens. Most people are finished with their new Driver’s License in hand in under 15 minutes…get that Fast Lane feeling!

Name Change

Were you married, or divorced, or have you otherwise legally changed your name? FastPass can assist with updating your license in two simple steps.

First, you must visit the social security administration and update your name there. Then, you must wait 24 hours and bring us the letter they issue to you confirming the change.

Finally, we need a certified copy of the official name change document (Usually divorce decree or birth certificate; marriage license; or court order). Don’t forget your proof of insurance if you own a vehicle

*Note: If you have both a Driver’s License and State ID, you must change your name on both or cancel one.

Out-of-State Transfer

If you are new to this state and have an out-of-state driver’s license, Fast Pass can transfer your class D or E Driver’s License to Louisiana. Simply bring your current unexpired driver’s license, original birth certificate OR passport, and one proof of residency (If you want the RealID, be sure to bring two printed proofs of residency).

Endorsements

FassPass can add the following endorsements to your Driver’s License:

  • Veteran – always ready to support our Veterans therefore if you want to add the Veterans indicator on your Driver’s Licnese or State Identification Card, just need one proof of discharge paperwork from military – click on link for acceptable proof
  • Motorcycle – must have a current LA Driver’s License or Learner’s Permit and the original certificate of completion from the Dept of Public Safety, Motorcycle Safety, Awareness and Operators Training Program from Louisiana State Police or approved Motorcycle driving school (click link and search by Office Service – Motorcycle Skill Road Test) Office of Motor Vehicles | Office List
  • Autism – may be added to any driver’s license or state issued Identification card. Must submit Medical Examiner’s Certificate of Autism Spectrum Disorder form (934810)
  • Blood Type – add your blood type to your driver’s license. This can help in case of emergency to allow medical staff to jump into action.
  • I’m Cajun – just ask at your time of renewal or duplicate – at minimal additional yearly cost
  • Wildlife and Fisheries – add the endorsement on LA Driver’s License issued a lifetime hunting or fishing license, a certificate of completion of firearm and hunter education, and/or a certificate of completion of boating safety education. Must show proof of completion of following classes (LA Wallet Ditigal application is acceptable proof).
    • Lifetime Hunting Endorsement - A copy of the lifetime hunting license
    • Firearm and Hunter’s Education - A certificate of completion
    • Boating Safety Education - A certificate of completion

License Reinstatement

Driver’s License or Vehicle has a No Insurance Block? Our team can help you clear the flag(s) and get all your credentials up to date. Please note we are unable to clear suspensions due to tickets, traffic violations, DWIs, or tax liens.

NI Flags are issued every time your insurance lapses or cancels, when you still have a valid license plate on your vehicle. Your insurance electronically notifies the State of LA and there is a lapse, the flag is set. At times, the flag is set in error, mostly when you switch insurance companies. The NI block will be placed on your Driver’s License and the Vehicle Registration. Our team can help research, identify the reason for the NI flag, and provide details to help you get the necessary documentation or information to clear the record.

The lady at the front desk where you have to sign in was very friendly and also the lady that helped me with my ID renewal was very nice and professional. I like the environment it's quiet, neat and very clean, service is fast was in and out less than ten minutes, would definitely highly recommend it to my family & friends.

Great place! No wait, quick, and friendly customer service from Gen! In and out in about 15 mins with a new Real ID license and regular ID. Used my Passport, car registration, and banking statement to verify myself and address. Definitely recommend will be back if I need anything else! (There will be a $23 convenience fee, but absolutely worth it to not deal with the wait and terror that is the real DMV!)

Extremely helpful staff. Let me know where to go and what to do to get a flag removed from my license. Once I got back to them they got me ID renewal processed quickly. In and out in about 10 minutes. I’ll pay a little extra if I don’t have to wait all day. Amy was particularly helpful, and a joy working with. Will come back here anytime I need anything
